Tessa’s Story: How She Was Able to Exercise After Losing Her Leg
Anything Is Possible With the Right Support
For many people living with a disability, especially after an injury, getting active again can feel impossible. But as Tessa shows, fitness is still within reach. With the help of adaptive prosthetics, support from Fit Your Ability, and a strong mindset, anyone can find their way back to movement and community.
Tessa’s Journey Back to Fitness
After her accident, Tessa didn’t give up. She found new ways to do the things she loved. Her new sports prosthetic leg, made for running and other activities, helps her move freely and proudly. It’s not just a tool, it’s a symbol of strength and confidence. Her leg also shows that she’s part of a community that believes in ability, not limitations.
How Her Prosthetic Leg Helps Her Stay Active
Today’s prosthetics are designed for real movement. People can now:
Run, jump, and walk on uneven ground
Join fitness sessions
Express themselves with custom designs
These devices give people the ability to join in, feel strong, and stay connected. Tessa says, “It’s not about what’s missing. It’s about what’s possible.”
Fit Your Ability Helped Tessa Get Moving Again
Tessa found support through Fit Your Ability, a program that helps people with disabilities get active again.
We offer:
Personal training for all levels
NDIS-approved support
Friendly studios and mobile visits
Help for anyone recovering from injury or illness
Tessa encourages people to reach out. “Even if you’re unsure, just take that first step, we’re here to help.”
How a Positive Mindset Makes All the Difference
Tessa’s biggest message is about mindset. You don’t have to do things the old way, you just have to find your way.
“If you want to run a marathon, you can do this. If you want to swim, you can do this. Anything you want to do, you can do. Just think outside the square.”
She says asking questions and trying new things is key. “There’s no shame in needing help. That’s how you grow.”
Doing the Things You Thought You Couldn’t
There’s nothing better than achieving something you thought was out of reach.
“When you finally do it, you go, Hey, I did it. And that’s the best feeling in the world.”
It’s about more than movement, it’s about freedom, pride, and showing yourself what you’re capable of.
You Can Start Your Journey Today
Tessa’s story proves that disability doesn’t mean you can’t be active.
