Fit Your Ability Finalists for Three Fitness Industry Awards
I’m proud that we’re finalists for three awards at Friday night’s Fitness Industry Awards.
Our commitment to making fitness accessible to people living with disability has been a key part of our story for a quarter of a century. These nominations recognise the people who make that possible every day: our participants, their families, support coordinators, trainers, support workers and local business owners.
Most Inclusive and/or Diverse Program
Fit Your Ability is a finalist for Most Inclusive and/or Diverse Program.
This is a broad category, recognising programs that help make fitness accessible to communities the mainstream fitness industry does not typically cater to. We are proud to be part of a group of organisations working to give more people the opportunity to be active, build confidence and pursue the goals that are important to them.
We have been helping people living with disability for a quarter of a century. That work evolved into our NDIS registration in 2019 and the development of Fit Your Ability personal training and disability support.
Our NDIS registration has been critical in stepping up what we had been doing for the 20 years before it. But being inclusive is about more than being registered. It is about building a service and a brand that people feel comfortable approaching, where they are listened to, supported and treated as an individual.
That is the thinking behind the name Fit Your Ability. We want people to see what is possible for them, with the right support around them.

Franchisee of the Year
Danielle Francis from Fit Your Ability Springwood is a finalist for Franchisee of the Year.
Danielle has spent ten years as a franchisee building a team of 20 across her mobile PT and disability support business. Through that team, more people in her local community can access individual support to work towards their health, fitness, confidence and independence.
Danielle is an example of what a committed local business owner can achieve. She knows her community, cares about the people she supports and has built a team that understands the importance of trust, consistency and personal relationships.
The recognition is deserved, and we are proud to have Danielle representing the work taking place across our Fit Your Ability team.

Fitness Enhancement, the family-owned business behind Fit Your Ability, is also a finalist for Franchise Group or Brand of the Year.
I began the business as a 19-year-old in 1999. After 27 years, it remains family-owned and continues to be built around the belief that personal training should be accessible to people who need something different from a regular gym.
Our national size means local Fit Your Ability businesses have the support, systems, training and shared experience of a larger team behind them. But the service remains personal, delivered by local people who get to know participants and their families.
That balance is important to us. It means we can continue to grow our capacity to support more people while staying true to the care, understanding and individual approach each person deserves.
