At Fit Your Ability, we’re all about helping people living with a disability get more out of life, whether that’s with or without one of our NDIS registered personal trainers. That’s why we’ve joined as proud ambassadors for the Million Moves program, powered by AUSactive, the fitness industry’s not-for-profit peak body.

Here’s the reality:

  • 75% of Australians don’t get the minimum recommended daily activity
  • For people living with a disability, the figure is even higher
  • Opportunities are fewer, challenges are greater, but the need is just as important — if not more
 
The Million Moves program is a government-supported initiative aimed at changing that statistic. It’s about getting one million sedentary Australians more active, and we’re particularly focused on making sure people living with a disability are included every step of the way.

Our Commitment to Disability Fitness

For over 25 years, we’ve been breaking down barriers so that people of all abilities can enjoy the benefits of movement.

That means:

  • Disability expos around the country, where we showcase inclusive ways to stay active
  • Thousands of face-to-face sessions each year through personal training and active support services
  • Advocating at Parliament House, where our CEO and founder Scott Hunt was one of the select few chosen to represent the fitness industry, ensuring the voices of people living with a disability are heard in government

This isn’t just about exercise. It’s about confidence, independence, and inclusion.

A Challenge for Everyone

Million Moves is designed to be simple, free, and achievable for all abilities. There’s no extreme workouts or complicated tracking,  just movement in a way that works for you.

That could be:

  • 75 independent steps a day
  • 75 punches from a wheelchair
  • 75 stretches, lifts, or movements that get your body active

 

The number 75 is no accident. It reflects the 75% of Australians who don’t get enough daily activity. Together, we can start changing that, one move at a time.
